Yaizu is a major port for bonito and tuna, with fish markets to browse. The Makinohara plateau is one of Japan’s largest tea-growing areas, and Omaezaki’s white lighthouse stands on a windy cape. Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport is nearby.
