What this area is like
Cape Irozaki at the southern tip has a lighthouse on sheer cliffs and boat tours of the sea caves. Yumigahama is a curved sandy beach, Shimogamo Onsen sits by the river, and Hirizo beach, reached by boat, is known for clear water and snorkelling.

Buses run from Shimoda Station, but a car makes the coves much easier to reach.
