What this area is like
Miho no Matsubara, a pine-lined beach facing Mount Fuji, is part of the Fuji World Heritage site. Nihondaira plateau and the tea fields near Fuji City offer more views; Kunozan Toshogu enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Fuji is clearest on winter mornings; in summer it is often hidden by haze.
