What this area is like
Wakura Onsen is a hot-spring town on Nanao Bay, famous for its grand ryokan. Nanao has the old Ipponsugi shopping street, and Notojima across the bridge has an aquarium. The area was hit by the January 2024 earthquake, and inns are reopening in stages.
