What this area is like
The Zao Echo Line climbs to the Okama crater lake. In the foothills are Togatta Onsen, Zao Fox Village, Shiroishi Castle and the town’s short umen noodles.
Plan your visit
The Echo Line is closed in winter, roughly November to April. Shiroishi-Zao Station is on the Tohoku Shinkansen.
