What this area is like
The Kerama Islands, a short boat ride from Naha, are famous for clear Kerama blue water and sea turtles. Miyako has white beaches and long bridges to neighbouring islands, Kumejima has the Hatenohama sandbar, and the Yaeyama Islands spread out from Ishigaki.
