What this area is like

Manza Onsen sits at about 1,800 metres with strongly sulphurous water and starry skies. Tsumagoi is cabbage country below Mount Asama, where Onioshidashi Park shows lava from the 1783 eruption, and Kita-Karuizawa is a quiet highland of cottages and campsites.
