What this area is like
Takasaki is the home of daruma dolls, made at Shorinzan Darumaji temple, and a 42-metre white Kannon statue looks over the city. Lake Haruna lies below Haruna Shrine, whose halls are built against huge rocks, and Maebashi has rose gardens in Shikishima Park.
