Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

Open lawns, garden paths and city views make this a slower stop near Shinjuku. Choose one or two garden sections and leave time to sit, rather than treating the whole site as a quick shortcut.

A simple way to visit

  1. Enter through the gate that matches your rail route.
  2. Choose a garden section, then a lawn or bench break.
  3. Leave before closing and return toward Shinjuku-sanchome for a meal.

Make the most of your visit

Check the seasonal closing time first. Do not book lunch so late that you arrive close to last entry.

Rainy-day planning

Paths remain outdoors; a greenhouse visit alone is not a complete rain-proof itinerary. Shorten the walk or choose indoor shopping.
