Hours
Check bus and cable-car timetables and the day’s operations. Shrine reception and shops have separate hours.
Cost
Adult cable-car return fare ¥1,400, revised 1 October 2026. Rail, bus, lift and meals are separate.

A simple way to visit

  1. Plan the return bus and cable car before going up.
  2. Walk through the village and decide whether to continue to the shrine.
  3. Descend early with a buffer for queues and connections.

Make the most of your visit

Expect slopes and around 300 shrine approach steps. Plan a shorter village visit if the climb does not suit your group, and check mountain conditions before travel.

Rainy-day planning

In poor mountain weather, choose Ome town instead. Avoid adding waterfall or rock-garden routes without a suitable plan and current trail information.
