What this area is like
Kurayoshi has white-walled storehouses with red roof tiles along a small river. Misasa Onsen is a radium hot spring, and nearby Nageiredo is a temple hall built into a sheer cliff, reached by a steep climb. Hawai Onsen sits on the shore of Lake Togo.
Plan your visit
Kurayoshi is on the JR San’in Line; buses run to Misasa in about 20 minutes. The climb to Nageiredo needs proper shoes and is closed in winter.
