What this area is like
Iki has white beaches, sea-urchin rice bowls and the ancient Harunotsuji site. Tsushima, close to Korea, has a deep ria coast best seen from the Eboshidake lookout and the shrine of Watatsumi with torii in the sea.

Fast ferries from Hakata reach Iki in about an hour and Tsushima in about 2 hours 15 minutes; flights also run from Fukuoka and Nagasaki.
